How I Work With Families

Choosing the right school is rarely a single decision. It’s a process, one that benefits from clear thinking, honest guidance and space to reflect on what genuinely suits your child.

My role is to help families move through that process with confidence, without overwhelm or unnecessary pressure.

Initial Conversation

We begin with a Discovery Call, a short focused conversation to understand your child, your priorities and where you are in the process.

This first conversation helps establish whether working together makes sense and what level of support would be most helpful.

School Research & Recommendations

Based on everything I learn about your child and your family’s needs, I research suitable options and present a clear, considered shortlist.

Not dozens of schools, but the ones that genuinely make sense for your situation, with a clear explanation of why.

This includes looking at:

  • School environments and ethos
  • Admissions context and timing
  • Practical fit for your child and family

Mock Interviews (Where Helpful)

For families preparing for interview-based entry points, I offer mock interviews as a standalone service or as part of more supported packages.

These are designed to:

  • Familiarise children with the interview format
  • Build confidence in a calm, age-appropriate way
  • Provide parents with clear, constructive feedback

Mock interviews are never about coaching a performance, they’re about helping children feel prepared and parents understand how their child is likely to come across.

Ongoing Support

Some families only need clarity at a single decision point. Others benefit from support across several stages, from open days through to final offers.

Where ongoing support is helpful, I stay alongside you to talk decisions through, sense-check choices and help you navigate the process thoughtfully and calmly.

Who I Work With

  • Families with children aged 2–13 navigating entry at 4+, 7+, 11+, or 13+
  • Families with children who have additional needs (SEN, learning differences)
  • Families relocating to the UK (with British citizenship or settled status)

I also cover grammar school options and can discuss state alternatives where relevant. Most of my clients are London-based, but I work with families across the UK.

Timing

Ideally, families come to me 12–18 months before their target entry point. The earlier we talk, the more options we have.

However, if you’re mid-process and feeling overwhelmed, or you’ve had unexpected news, a waiting list call, a last-minute offer, a change in circumstances, I can still help. Too late depends entirely on the context.

Sibling Discount

For families with multiple children going through the process, I offer a 10% discount on the second child’s fees for the same tier. If you have specific circumstances, we can discuss this during your Discovery Call.

What I Don’t Do

  • Tutoring or exam preparation — I don’t prepare children academically. I can signpost you to trusted resources.
  • Application form completion — That’s admin. I guide decisions, not paperwork.
  • Guarantees of places — I guide the decision, not the outcome. No consultant can guarantee admission.
  • Back door access to schools — I have knowledge and relationships, not special access. My value is in helping you make better decisions, not in pulling strings.
  • Visa or immigration advice — I work with families who have British citizenship or settled status. I don’t specialise in visa requirements.
